Vapour blasting produces a finer finish than dry blasting and is ideal for the cleaning of more delicate components. Vapour blasting machines use a water and abrasive slurry to simultaneously blast and degrease, preventing impregnation of media onto the component. One of the major advantage of vapour blasting is that it is a dust free process.
Compressed air accelerates the water and abrasive slurry onto the component's surface, removing surface coatings, contaminants and corrosion. Following the removal of surface residues, components receive a clean, desirable finish, giving parts that 'new' look.
Components must be entirely dismantled prior to being vapour blasted. This includes removing brackets, bolts and any other items branching off the component, all of which can be treated separately. Some rubber components (seals, cups etc..) respond well to a light vapour blasting treatment, but should still be removed from components.
We charge at $120 per hour, however, for those smaller jobs, there is a minimum charge of $50
We can Vapour Blast all aluminium components and engine blocks, cylinder heads, manifolds, gearbox housings, carburettors & crankcase housings. Give us a call if you have a part that needs to be Vapour Blasted.
Our premium service offers affordable reconditioning for motorcycle, automotive, marine and aeronautical components to the highest standard. Our fast turnover will have your parts immaculately refurbished in no time!
Typically, all metal components are suitable to be vapour blasted, however depending on the items function, some components may respond better to different surface coatings. We also offer a dry bead blasting surface which restores components in a similar fashion, with slightly different finish.
Vapour blasting may not be as effective in removing some surface coating such as 2 pack paint and powder coating, but it is best suited to make ferrous and non-ferrous metal castings look new again. Get in touch with us if you have any doubts whether or not your components can be vapour blasted, we are more than happy to advise what surface coating may best suit your material.
Our Cabinet is large enough to handle most components automotive, motorcycle, aeronautical and marine components once dismantled. Internally, it measures 1000mm x 950 mm x 720mm (width, depth, height), however we do need to be able to manoeuvre the component to treat the entire surface. Most wheels, engine blocks, gearbox housings and exhaust systems shouldn't be an issue. If in doubt, get in touch!
Parts should be fully dismantled when left with us, and this is how they will be returned, treated of course. If required, we will carefully package parts to be returned via CourierPost or other courier.
Cash (if components are being collected), EFTPOS, or internet banking.
Depending on the size of the job, our team should be able to have your components back to you within 1-3 working days.
Auckland Vapour Blasting goes to the highest effort to ensure parts are totally clean upon being returned, however, prior to reassembly of components, it is your responsibility to ensure parts are adequately clean. We will not be liable for any damage to your products once they have been returned to you.
